Phalaenopsis

Of all the orchid species, the Phalaenopsis is the easiest to look after. It is therefore extremely suitable for novice plant lovers. The Phalaenopsis orchid can flower for up to twelve weeks if cared for properly. So give your customers a few basic rules about care.

Besides being easy to maintain, the Phalaenopsis is also nice because it comes in many varieties. So there is always a Phalaenopsis that fits the interior! So no matter whether there is a bohemian, modern, retro or romantic interior style, there is always one to match.

Besides the plant itself with its beautiful flowers, the roots of the Phalaenopsis are also worth looking at. Orchids breathe through their roots, which they do in nature and also in the pot. That's why some roots also grow outside the pot. Leave these in place, because a healthy orchid, comes with healthy roots. With a transparent pot, it is easy to check the state of the roots, and thus the health of the Phalaenopsis.

Most growers recommend placing Phalaenopsis in a double pot: a transparent growing pot made of plastic inside an ornamental pot (preferably also transparent). This arrangement offers several advantages. For instance, you can easily remove the orchid from the ornamental pot to check the roots, thanks to the transparency of the growing pot. The ornamental pot also makes the plant fit in even better with the interior or harmonise with other plants. Another practical advantage is that you can easily change the ornamental pot without disturbing the orchid. Because the Phalaenopsis stays in its growing pot, it can also be hung in a macramé plant hanger without any problems - ideal for a stylish and flexible presentation.
