At Grower Zeurniet, there’s no fuss—just great plants grown with care. The company has evolved from a vegetable grower into a forward-thinking nursery focused on quality, sustainability, and innovation. From geothermal heating to lava-grown plants, Zeurniet is a name that represents passion and progress in horticulture.

A family business with a twist

From Scheffers to Zeurniet
Zeurniet started as Scheffers Nursery, a vegetable grower. In 1985, the family changed the name to Zeurniet to set themselves apart. The nursery now spans 3 hectares and has 10 departments focused entirely on ornamental plants.

Committed to sustainability

Green growing with geothermal energy
Zeurniet is co-owner of a geothermal heating project, reducing gas use and CO₂ emissions. They also reuse water and use biological pest control wherever possible. Sustainability is at the core of everything they do.

Lova: Plants on Lava

Eye-catching and innovative
Lova plants are grown directly on porous volcanic rock, creating a decorative and natural effect. This innovative method is both visually striking and environmentally friendly.

The birth of a concept

From Australia to the Netherlands
In 2017, an Australian supplier introduced the idea of growing on lava stones to Europe. Zeurniet saw the potential and started production in 2018. Today, they offer three successful Lova varieties.
